The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) refers to the collective body of knowledge, traditions, and practices that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It encompasses various disciplines, including:

1. Traditional Sciences: Ayurveda (medicine), Jyotish (astrology), Vastu Shastra (architecture), and Yoga.
2. Philosophical Traditions: Vedanta, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Sufism.
3. Mathematics and Astronomy: Contributions of ancient Indian mathematicians and astronomers, such as Aryabhata and Bhaskara.
4. Language and Literature: Sanskrit, Tamil, and other classical languages, as well as the rich literary heritage of India.
5. Arts and Crafts: Traditional Indian arts, such as music, dance, painting, and sculpture.
6. Folk Knowledge and Practices: Ethnomedicine, folk astronomy, and other traditional practices.

IKS is characterized by its holistic approach, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all things. It seeks to integrate spiritual, philosophical, and practical aspects of life, promoting a balanced and sustainable way of living.
